Third edition the last published in the author's lifetime with his revisions thereby establishing the definitive text for all subsequent editions. Given as a wedding gift to the present owners by Bern Dibner noted engineer and collector and founder of Burndy Engineering Company who donated the remainder of his esteemed collection to the Smithsonian Institute forming the Dibner Library of the History of Science and Technology. Bookplates tipped in front pastedown; contemporary manuscript ex-libris to f.f.e.p.; light rubbing to boards; inner hinge lightly strengthened; otherwise in exceptionally fine condition.
